Tackling Ribs!!

As promised, it's time to address grilling your own ribs!!  Now, when most of us go the our local BBQ joint, we look forward to the succulent, fall-off-the-bone juiciness that only comes with smoking meats for long hours at low temps.  So, would you be surprised to learn that you can achieve the same results at home in just a few hours??  I have to admit...I was!!

Whether you are using gas or charcoal, you CAN make ribs every bit as good as a restaurant at home in a reasonable amount of time.  It just takes preparation, that's all.  Now, WILL make mistakes, and that's to be don't let a bad result sway you from learning.

AHHH...The beginning of a BEAUTIFUL Labor Day weekend...

Labor Day weekend...nothing else says relax, enjoy, and EAT!!  Traditionally, most people take this weekend to do family things...trips to the beach, the park, or just an old fashioned cookout right in your own backyard.

With that in mind, I thought today would be a perfect opportunity to post a few grilling tips...mainly, this is for the ones who either burn what they put on the grill, or don't cook it nearly enough.  Yes, there is a trick to grilling right, but it's not nearly as hard as you would think!!

Red Hot & Blue Potato Salad - The ORIGINAL

This recipe is something I've been trying fruitlessly to find.  Red Hot & Blue is a chain of BBQ restaurants scattered around the South, with the original being located in Memphis, TN.  They do have great BBQ, but the one thing they majorly shine on is their potato salad.

Well, I got lucky...REAL LUCKY!!  Today, while surfing the internet, I found a posting of the actual recipe taken from the restaurant training manual!!  Now, the original makes for about 100 servings, so I did use a converter to make it a tad more manageable (scaled it down to 12), but here it is...the REAL DEAL!!

Welcome to my new diggins'!!!

For those who don't know me, welcome. For those who do, welcome back!!

I've toyed with this idea for a while, but have always felt a tad silly about it...I mean, who would really follow a blog written by me?  Well, after alot of consideration...I finally decided that I would take the plunge.  Yup...gonna jump right in, feet first, and see how this works.
